A Peaceful Buddhist Mantra
“Om Mani Padme Hum”
This is a Buddhist Mantra for Compassion pronounced
(om man e pad may hum)
I find this mantra rolls off the tongue smoothly in a deeper tone of voice, and its effects are quite hypnotic.
Practice daily for 10 – 15 minutes, by getting yourself in a good posture, light some candles and/or Incense and chant slowly and steadily. You might like to practice in the bath – the warmth and echo in the bathroom can help to go deeper.
You may be surprised at how effectively this mantra can aid your meditation, or soothe your mind.
I have found that by chanting this mantra when I feel upset, (especially angry) quite quickly my mood changes and I am able to see the other persons point of view more clearly and compassionately, at times the effect of calming and soothing can be quite profound, leaving me feeling very peaceful.
Try it for yourself!
